So my daughter is off to New York on 4 February.... tonight we went to the school for the pre-trip meeting. Staying on Times Square... trips to Central Park... shopping.... The Guggenheim and Metropoliton museums... NBC Studios... shopping.... Rockerfeller Centre... Empire State Building... Battery Park... Ellis and Liberty Island... Shopping.... hopefully if the Writer's Strike is concluded by then they might get in a Broadway show. A trip to CNN was planned but apparently that has been changed because CNN have cancelled all tours until November... so it might be a Radio City tour... unless someone can recommend anything else. It's a trip for Hannah's Media Studies class so why don't I grow some balls and e-mail Ricky Van Veen and ask him if he fancies having some reprobate teenagers from the UK come visit with the CV team... cos CV sure as shit know a thing or two about modern media.... as does Julia Allison. On a side note for a long time now Hannah has been very passionate about visiting Ground Zero. Tonight at the meeting she discovered that the students will have the opportunity to visit the site if they choose to. She is pleased... if pleased is the correct word to use... that she is going to have the opportunity to pay her respects. This has been one of the things that she feels... as a person... she must do at some point in her life... and her face lit up tonight when they announced that she would have the opportunity far sooner than she ever imagined she would be able to do. |
Isn't the internet great for things like this....
e-mails have been exchanged... phone numbers takens... details forwarded on... and the right people are trying to make this happen... I love the internet... and Steve....
