Whilst in Benners house sometime ago I spotted some amazing pictures that they had obviously recently had taken and I asked where they had them done. "Venture Photography" came back the reply... and so.. way back in September... I wandered down to Venture and handed over my money for a photo session for myself and HB... and a session for Barbie, Ken and their new amalgamated family...
We've never had a "family" photo taken... always hating the staged posiness (is that a word) of the pictures we have seen at friends houses so it was with some trepidation that HB and I went off to have our pictures taken. The plan was to send one of the pictures to TPL as part of his Christmas present... (he was always complaining that I never sent him recent photos). I thought it would be a cute thing to do.. sending him pics of the two most important ladies in his life....
The photo shoot itself was amazing fun... no posing for the camera... just basically being given props... a little direction... some VERY loud music.... and told to have fun for 2 hours..... We chose one... rather hurridly.. to send to TPL.... and ironicly it was the ONLY picture out of 50+ that featured my beautiful engagement ring.... needless to say... due to the turn of events... that picture now sits here... on my desk.... We returned a couple of weeks ago to go through the complete set of pictures again to choose which ones we wanted to keep in our collection. I think we said "No I don't like that one" to only 3 pictures.....which is a big back slap and commendation to the photographer.... Amy.... We did... finally.... whittle them down to 16 pictures... 7 of which are going into a large frame like THIS... four of HB are going into a frame like THIS and all of them to go into an album.... (The pictures I have linked to are deceiving... these frames are HUGE and the pictures within the frames look amazing. Its all VERY expensive... but I think its worth every penny... because the pictures are... quite simply... outstanding. This may sound like a terrible cliche but the girl who took the pictures has managed... in the space of 2 hours... to capture the incredible relationship I have with HB in every single photograph.... The whole thing was a MARVELLOUS experience... the results are breathtaking.... and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new take on the family photo.... So thats Venture Photography... Ebrington Street... Plymouth....
